This really nice N gauge train pack by Tomix is 93801 a North Western Railway (Sodor), steam locomotive set. Consisting of a NWR Class 1 locomotive in blue livery with the running number 1, and named Thomas. It also has a pair of four wheel non bogey carriages named Annie &

Clarabel.

The Isle of Sodor Railway exists in the British Isles, situated in the Irish Sea between Cumbria and the Isle of Man. Similar to the Isle of Man is is a British protectorate but not fully considered part of the UK so imperial measures are used (as in the Isle of Man, and railway operations were never included in the Grouping process or more recent privatisation).

The railways of Sodor include standard and narrow gauge railways, a rack railway and a 15-inch gauge railway. The standard-gauge railway system consists of a mainline and several branch lines. They are linked to and interoperable with each other and with the mainland system, so that the standard-gauge engines can visit locations in the UK (at Barrow-in-Furness) under their own power.

North Western Railway is the main railway company on the Island. It controls the mainline railway and many of the branch lines on the island and is often referred to as "the Fat Controller's Railway"

The 0-6-0 locomotives NWR Class 01 steam locomotives used on the Island have mostly been operated by the North Western Railway, which has no standard corporate livery, but has a universal numbering system. These locos are often used on the the Ffarquhar Branch Line which runs from Knapford to Ffarquhar, though diesel railcars sometimes operate these services.

The locos are very similar in design and construction to the LB&SCR E2 class, though have a number of modifications to suit the requirements of the North Western Railway.

It is not clear what degree of modernisation has occurred on the Isle of Sodor in recent years, or if any of the the steam locomotives used there remain in preservation.

The train pack is in good condition as you can see in the pictures, it is tested and runs well, a complete external visual inspection has shown the overall condition is very good. The box is in good if slightly shelf worn condition.

Overall this is a really nice scale locomotive and carriage set and would look fantastic on a layout.

Do please have a look at my other listings, I typically have various HO and OO locos on offer as well as an extensive range of imported N gauge locos and other items.

Note: I do recommend all locos are cleaned & serviced, as they have some age to them even if the quality looks at the highest level (fairly standard advice for all locos!).
