1831 William Woodbridge Geographical & Statistical antique map of the United States depicting many yet to be states as territories - Oregon Territory, Northwest Territory, Missouri Territory, Michigan Territory & Arkansas Territory.

Description:

A beautiful and vibrantly colored early transitional map of the United states showing many territories as well as the US extending coast to coast.   Sandwiched between the "Great American Desert" and the "Spanish province of Texas" is a really cool note that reads, "The desert is traversed by herds of Buffaloes & wild Horses & inhabited only by roving tribes of Indians." The map was originally entered in to Congress in 1831 & Published in Hartford. This tremendous map also has a key in the lower right area with city sizes, forts, Indian villages & more.  Would look amazing framed!
