Description

YAMAHA SB-5A '66 Candy Blue

The SG series was born as Yamaha's first electric guitar/bass in 1966, when the world was in the midst of an electric boom. It is Yamaha's signature model that continues to the present day through several model changes in guitars.
Now in stock is the SB-5A, a standard model based on the SG-7 "Blue Jeans Custom", which symbolized Yamaha in the 1960s.

【body】
Overall weight approximately 3.6kg. The body shape is based on the blue jeans custom. The horn that protrudes greatly on the first string side is its charm point. In addition to scratches, dents, and dullness of the metal parts, you can see uneven coloring that is common with Yamaha's colors. Joint plate and finger rest are out of stock.

【neck】
Nut width approximately 42.2mm. It is characterized by a narrow, rounded neck shape. Although there are some variations in the winding of the tuner, this does not affect its functionality much. The playability is good with the nut replaced and frets adjusted. The bridge cover is out of stock.

[Electrical system]
The controls are 1Vol/1Tone/Balancer. You can mix seamlessly by adjusting the pickup balance with the balancer control. Although it has the thickness typical of Yamaha, it has a well-balanced sound and a moderately tight and cohesive tone that is attractive.
