Offered here is a hardcover first edition of 'Aladdin and his Wonderful Lamp and other (Oriental)Tales'; It was published in 1916 by Whitman Publishing. The book has a slate blue cloth binding with red lettering and hand drawn illustrations incorporated on the the front and rear covers by famed children illustrator Violet Idelle Moore. There are several color plates by Violet Moore in the interior of the book as well. The front and rear end papers are fully illustrated in black (blue) and white images of children following the pied piper by artist Nina Moore. The back of the first color plate plate contains the neat signature of the previous owner. The binding and spine are strong and the book is not cocked. There is noticeable wear. rubbing on all the corers and the top and bottom of the spine. The front cover has a very slight wave. The pages are clean and unmarked. There are no creases, tears or missing pieces. This 90 page book measures approximately 8 1/2 inches x 6 1/4 inches.
