1979 25c Washington Quarter on 5c Double-Denomination PCGS AU

PCGS 1979 Washington quarter double-denomination struck on a Jefferson nickel. The coin shows the Jefferson nickel design as a flipover double-denomination (nickel's obverse is on the quarter's reverse) underneath the quarter's design, and is also the weight of a nickel. It is much smaller than a normal quarter, and so it is missing portions of the outer lettering and reeded edge.   Portions of the nickel's design can be seen, including the top of Jefferson's head at K-11:30 on the quarter's reverse, and also some portions of the nickel's lettering and design near the rim on both sides of the quarter.    Quarter on nickel double-denominations usually have much of the underlying nickel's design obliterated, and this is a average (decent) example in terms of how much undertype can be seen.   Rare as a 25c on 5c double-denomination!   AU details with scuffy-scratches on the coin.
