Offered here is an early 19th century Georgian sterling silver pocker curved British snuff box, made in Birmingham, 1808-9, by John Shaw. The box is 3” long, 1 3/4” wide, and 5/8” deep. It weighs around 2 1/2 ounces. The entire box surface has a braid or weave design. The cover fits snugly and securely. There is some gilt on the box inside. The box is in excellent antique condition with a few tiny pin pricks on the back and a few shallow depressions on the back and on the area around the lower left cover hinge. These are less noticeable to the eye than to my camera. There are the initials “CP” on the cover that were probably added on at a later date.
