What a historic find!  This circa 1913? China Cover with a two-cent green, Junk Boat, stamp was mailed from Amoy China by Y.M.C.A.'s 20-year Secretary T.M. Eliott to Mr. F.B. Southworth, Portland, Maine USA.

According to Internet Research, in 1938 Palm Springs, California, Desert Sun Newspaper reported:

"Man From China To Address Masons Tuesday

A man who spent more than 20 years in China and who is thoroughly familiar with the Sino-Japanese war, its probable outcome and its effect upon the rest of the world, will be the speaker at the Masonic Club luncheon at the Desert Inn. ...  The speaker will be T. M. Elliott. His subject will be China today. Mr. Elliott was for more than 20 years secretary of the Chinese Y. M. C. A. in Hong Kong and Amoy, both in the center of the present war zone. His personal contact and acquaintance with many of Chinas leaders gives him an unusual background for the interpretation of recent history and present today events in the Orient."

Quality of the cover is fair with soiling, edge tears and a hole on back.
