Beginning of work:
To some extent, I’m even trying to get used to the image of the artist who lived in 1889. His thoughts, hopes, maybe he had already painted this painting to order or wanted to somehow make money from selling it, what paints did he use in working on the painting (paints were expensive then), what technique did he use and how many sessions did he conduct? I had to change the size of the painting at the request of the customer, choose a more square format and will add the top (sky and foliage) and bottom (water and grass, with bushes) at my own discretion.
End of work:
I had to spend 10 - 12 sessions working on the painting.
I am satisfied with the work - I managed to convey as accurately as possible not only every stroke of the artist, but also the master’s brushwork, mood, coloring, colors and shades of the painting. When I was painting a picture, sometimes I had the feeling that I was standing on a bridge and painting this view live from nature, I heard the splashing of water, the singing of birds, the mooing of cows somewhere in the distance, I smelled water and grass, I felt the blowing winds of the 19th century). And apparently the artist either lived in one of these houses depicted in the picture, or rented housing there while working. I think I understood what colors the master used and tried to use them in the painting. And I think everything turned out great.
