A rare opportunity to purchase a Thorn Mercury *MK3; lightweight touring bike. Currently very limited availability from the manufacturer, and this size and MK3 variant was the last available when I made the purchase a couple of years ago.  (*Mk 3 frameset designed with clearances and option to run either 650b or 700c wheels. I specced 650b for the benefits and comfort provided by running a larger volume 650b tyre ! )

Reynolds 853 frameset, with Thorns Reynolds touring fork ( includes low rider rack braze ons ) canti / V- brake bosses are reversible to allow fitment for  650b or 700c wheel sizes. Frame size is 580L - suitable for riders 5'10" - 6'1"  and top tube length is designed for use with flat style handlebars. Mudguards bolt directly into threaded bosses on the frame and fork, so all very neat and secure. Braze ons also for both front and rear pannier racks, so although the bike has a "sporty" geometry that provides lively, responsive handling, the bike can be loaded up for bikepacking and medium weight touring duties. Eccentric BB shell allows for chain tension adjustments.

Legendary Rohloff 14 speed internal hub gear provides a large gear range courtesy of a 40t Thorn reversible chainring combined with a 16t Rohloff reversible sprocket. Front hub is an original Shimano XT Large flange *6 bolt disc hub (*note front forks are for rim brake only - Thorns Reynolds forks are manufactured for comfort and the tapered legs are designed to absorb and dampen road vibrations and bumps !)  Both hubs are 32h and are laced into Thorn lightweight 650b alloy rims ( front rim is new with zero wear.) Schwalbe G - ONE SPEED folding 650x 1.9" gravel tyres provide speed and grip on a variety of surfaces. Tubes fitted. Never had a flat.
