"Ted Lapidus" Paris, France, men's designer suit in a linen 55% + cotton 45% mix. Fine stripes. UK size 46. Worn Once VGC.

The linen mix material is a lovely shade of neutral pale beige with a white stripe running horizontally throughout.
The jacket has a collar, notched leading down to 3-button fastening & a deep back vent. The sleeves are long with 4-buttons at the cuff. The jacket has one top pocket & two large flap pockets.
The top half of the jacket is lined in a silky material with two inside pockets on one side & a buttoned pocket on the other side.
The matching straight  trousers have a flat front, belt loops, 3-button fastening & zip. 2-side pockets & 2-buttoned back pockets.
The front of the trousers is also lined in the same silky material. Inside leg is 34" & there's a deep hem of 3" ( could be let down )
Worn just once, to a wedding, the material still feels brand new with the stiffening finish.

Faults: there are a few darker marks on the trousers close to the hem ( photographed ) which would come out with dry cleaning.

The wide cut legs and color palette of this lightweight linen-cotton blend suit; expresses the versatility in fashionable men's wardrobes that began in the 1960s and continued into the '70s. It was designed by Ted Lapidus (1929-2008), a member of the Chambre Syndicale de la Haute Couture who, in addition to being credited with introducing the safari suit in the 1960s, was known for his unisex designs, his affordable, ready-to-wear men's fashion, and his mass-market lines.
