Japanese Meiji period porcelain cloisonne totai shippo round lidded pot - pink, flower and butterfly designs

This is a very rare and unusual piece of totai shippo porcelain cloisonne. I have possessed it for many years and enjoyed it. Now that I am trying to thin out my collection, I have studied it again in detail. The lid of this pot looks to have been dropped at some point and there are three cracks two of which look serious. I've often wondered if it was restored at some point, but I think it wasn't. One can feel the cloisons just protruding above the surface and there is glaze missing along the length of the two cracks. But none of this really detracts from the piece when it displays.
Taken as a whole it is a very satisfying interesting pot. It is a similar shape to a seal ink pot I possess - though I imagine that it was designed as a decorative piece.

The rough measurements are about 12 cms diameter, and about 7cms high.
