Designed for alpine days and skiing in sub-zero temperatures, the Illuminator Sensor gloves include an array of features to keep your hands toasty and practical. Warm, waterproof and windproof, the Illuminator gloves feature an extremely water resistant goat leather palm which provides excellent weather resistance but also increases durability and longevity over synthetic fabrics, especially if coming into contact with rope on a regular basis.
Not forgetting the large amount of us who will take phones along into the mountains, Outdoor Research have used their Sensor Technology to allow these gloves to be touch screen compatible without having to take any layers off or exposing your hands to sub-zero temperatures. While on the subject of sub-zero temperatures, Primaloft Silver insulation is used throughout the glove in different quantities depending where on your hand is most vulnerable. 200g/m² is used on the back of the hand and fingers and 133g/m² on the palm, the main reason behind using less on the palm is to firstly allow a better feel while holding tools or ski equipment, but also as our palm doesn't require the same quantity as it isn't as vulnerable to cold temperatures.
Small little well thought out features such as a soft patch on the thumb to wipe your nose and a pre-curved construction to allow better motion and comfort increase the Illuminator's versatility even further.
