This is a early Appleton Tracy & Co, Waltham from 1862, in a hard to find Mint, Original Hunting case with all the engine turnings fresh & crisp.

The dial is nice with Roman  Numerals and a track above them  The dial is not perfect but close to it with a faint hairline at 58 going to the center hole. I  t has very nice blue Closed Morning Glory Hands.

The movement is a clean Gilt Finish. The hand written ledgers show this movement made in Dec 1962, Serial number 57828, in the run of 57821-57860.It is a Model 1857 . It has 15 jewels according to the Ledgers, and a better Gold Expanded Balance Wheel. It has been keeping accurate time for a week.I am including a antique Key to wind & set it.

The case  on this watch is very seldom seen in this condition. The engine turning are fresh & crisp and in very fine detail. The lids have a patterned edge work and then a  coin edge circle and then  Floral work at the top and bottom and a uninitiated  shield with designs around it , The back is the same without the shield.. There is a trace of wear on the lids at the rings before the flat, that I could not see until I looked at the pictures enlarged and  the Bow. There is a Trademark inside both lids like a crown and a 18 underneath it, but I don't know of the trademark and the case is not Gold, just Gold filled. I can't flex the dust cover.

Look over the 20 pictures and ask any questions before bidding. Thanks
