1795 Thomas Paine Farthing Token UNC-63 Nice

The obverse shows a wild pig trampling upon a crown with radiating liberty cap above with the legend, "PIGS MEAT PUBLISHED BY T SPENCE LONDON." The reverse is dated 1795 with "ADVOCATES FOR THE RIGHTS OF MAN THOs SPENCE SIR THOs MORE THOs PAINE ."

We are all familiar with a book written by Thomas Paine titled, "Rights of Man" published in 1791. This token reflects the political sentiment of the time. Because Thomas Paine is mentioned by name on this token, it is considered as American political collectible and listed as such in American coin catalogs. This one is a farthing and measures 20mm...a nice one to boot with nice color, nice surfaces, and sharply struck.

Thomas Paine was THE dude for Americans during the American Revolution.
I visited Smithsonian, NPG, recently and took this photo of Thomas Paine. This is a small painting, smaller than copy paper. No, you don't get this painting with the token; it is not a part of this sale. This is just for show.
