Up for bid and for your consideration is a vintage wise owl, plastic, battery, toy lantern or night light from the 1960s or 70s. It's in its original box and is made in Hong Kong. Working! 

This owl is really cute and would be a fantastic addition to your owl or lantern collection! 

The details:

This owl measures about 5-1/8 inches in tall and about 3 inches in diameter at the base.

The entire lantern is made of hard plastic. The base is cream colored plastic. The owl is made of flesh colored plastic with either sprayed or hand painted details. The base and owl are two different kinds of hard plastic. The base has more shine, and the owl has a softer feel with a matte surface.

You open the battery compartment by unscrewing the bottom of the base about a half of an inch. There are two small bumps on the inside of the case. The base cover has 2 grooves that the little bumps track in to, then turn the half inch to release or secure the cover.

It takes two "C" batteries (not included). He does work! You access the bulb by just pulling the owl from the base, revealing the bulb.

The "Off/On" switch is on the front of the battery case and is marked above the switch. I The owl can actually be turned on the base so that the switch is in any position relative to the head that you want.

The bottom reads: "To open, twist and pull" with an arrow showing the direction to twist in a circle around the center ridge and "Made in Hong Kong" in the center of the circle shape. 

It works! When turned on the owl lights up from within. The base does not light up, it's not supposed to.

The overall condition is good, but the paint is crazing overall, also there is wear and scratches to the paint commensurate with age.

The box is in worn condition with many scrapes, dents, marks and tears. Please see photos for condition as I can not fully describe every bump and scrape! There is also water stains on the bottom of each panel of the box as well as on the top flap.
