Offered here is a French silver 1/4 franc coin from the first year of Louis-Philippe I reign. It is an 1831 coin with a mint mark B (Rouen). The mintage is 52,119. The 1/4 franc silver coin, whether a “quart” under Napoleon I, or 1/4 franc under Louis XVIII, Charles X, or Louis-Philippe I are the smallest silver denomination and size in the first half of the 19th century. This particular coin though uncertified is in a nice grade quality.
