The game was played in July, 1979, in the now demolished Seattle Kingdome. The National League beat the American League 7-6. Pittsburgh Pirates star Dave Parker was named the MVP.

There were so many stars and Hall of Famer (HOF) players on the rosters of the two teams – Brett, Carew, Jackson, Rice, Ryan, Yaz, Bench, Brock, Carlton, Carter, Morgan, Perry, Schmidt, Simmons, Sutter, Winfield… just to name a few!
