Rare Large Antique Early 19th Century (circa 1800), Heavy Lignum Vitae Sailor's Fid Rigging Tool Hand Turned.

Measures 45cm x 6cm diameter.

This lovely tactile curiosity was used by seaman and sailors for rigging and rope splicing tasks. It has developed a beautiful deep patina over its 200 years of handling.
