This made-for-TV historical drama originally aired on NBC on November 23, 1980. Chronicles the personal and professional lives of Colonel Tibbets and the airmen of the of the 509th Composite Group, Army Air Force Unit that dropped the first atomic bomb to be used in combat on Hiroshima, Japan at the end of WWII. The story is based on a book by Gordon Thomas and Max Gordon Witts and also looks at how the aftermath of the bombing affected their lives.
