We are pleased to be offering the Nicest non-proof obverse of a 1909 VDB that you will ever see. Don't be fooled by my feedback; I've been "doing this" for decades. I don't get excited about many coins, but this one... it's pristine, with a dusky muted rainbow over the shoulder. The satiny luster goes over the jaw uninterrupted. This is what you want your early Lincolns to look like. The reverse is a slightly more rose-toned, with a small as-made void at the left stand on N (CENT), and the remnants of a small fingerprint that is untouched by any brush or solvent. I think it was pulled from the die after it was struck and put-away, much like Proofs. Look at certed 65-6-7+ RED coins, and try, to find a nicer obverse. As soon as I saw it I was mesmerized, graders be d*****. I think PCGS just (fudged)-up, and the remnants of the fp should be easy to take care of. Like I said, I don't care if it doesn't sell; I really can't duplicate it. The Last image is scanned, the full holder pic is a photograph so you can imagine what it looks like in-hand. It's stunning. * Shipping: $5.00
