This is a classic Native American “Rainbow Man” brooch, dating probably from the 1960s. It was crafted by the famous Zuni jewelers Gary and Paulinis Vacit, whose great skill is evident in the fine workmanship. The pin features sterling silver inlaid with turquoise, coral, jet, mother-of-pearl, and shell. It is approx. 2.75” tall, and weighs 19.3 grams.

Condition is very good. The pin mechanism is in good working order. Can also be worn as a pendant. Nice-looking stones. Engraved on the back: “Gary & Paulinis Vacit / Zuni”. Gary Vacit was the son of Frank Vacit, and grandson of Leekya Deyuse.
