This is a set of 4 large chunks of authentic Butternut Brown lye soap, made in Pennsylvania by the Amish in the early 1900s. The soap is a primitive, naive style and is unsigned. It was likely used for cleaning and laundry purposes on a farm or in a farmhouse.

This color is highly desirable as opposed to the white lye soap.
