For sale is a very rare copper Rooster Weather Vane. It is complete. It features two spheres. We believe the N, S, E, W are brass. There may also be some Zinc elements to the construction. Overall height is just under 52". The 'Arrow' is 25.5" in length. The Rooster itself is 17.5" tall and 16" wide. It has just a wonderful patina. It assembles and disassembles completely. We contemplated greasing the main shaft and showing functionality but decided not to apply grease or any other substance(s) that might contact surfaces. But we are certain with lubrication this could be put into service immediately. The spheres have some dents here and there. They are not perfect, but certainly has wear commensurate with its age. Just beautiful. One of the rooster claws has come away from the arrow but it is the hollow post that affixes the rooster to the shaft so there is no chance of it detaching. This is just a beautiful example of a rare and increasingly difficult-to-find weather vane.
