16mm FEATURE FILM: LAST REMAKE OF BEAU GESTE
GB 1977
dir Marty Feldman
with Marty Feldman, Ann-Margret, Michael York

The priceless Blue Water jewel is coveted by many, including elderly Sir Hector Geste: his new wife Flavia; his daughter Isabel; and his adopted twin sons, heroic Beau (M York) and pathetic Digby (M Feldman). When Sir Hector takes to his deathbed, where he remains for the duration of the film, Beau absconds with the stone so as to keep it from his stepmother. Comic complications ensue. Watch for Trevor Howard as Sir Hector.

Comedian and writer Marty Feldman was riding high at the time and signed a deal with Universal to direct five films. Only two were made and this is the first. Feldman disliked the released version of this film after Universal took it back in house and edited their own version for theatrical release. Michael York said that Marty Feldman's original version was much funnier than the studio cut.

Run time approx 1 hr 25 mins. 2 very full reels. Matted widescreen. Colour is faded to mostly red. PLEASE READ RE CONDITION This ex-rental print is in only fair shape: reel 1 has a scratch in each frame throughout (caused by bad projection); the film is dirty and needs a good clean; there are a few splices and some emulsion crazing (treatable with FilmGuard). It will clean up though. NO BOX OR CANS film will be sent wrapped up in cardboard.
