This small unique masterpiece was purchased in Canton Ohio.

It caught my eye because of the wonderful colorful drip glaze in brick red, yellow, brown and black.

This little frog has some damage, a tip of a foot missing, a chip, scuff and a crack, as shown in the photos.

Although this work is not signed it's form is consistent with Peters and Reed frog sculptures.   The use of drip glaze technique makes this a rarer piece.

It can also be used as a trinket or hat pin holder and would be a valuable addition to a ceramics collection.

"Peters and Reed Pottery was founded in 1899 by John D. Peters and Adam Reed in South Zanesville, Ohio. The company used local red clay to make functional and decorative art pottery."
