THREE (3) - Ayam Cemani Chicken Hatching Eggs 🥚

Known as “The Rarest Chicken in the World,” Ayam Cemani are truly a striking sight with all-black feathers reflecting a beetle-green or purple iridescence in sunlight. They are a smaller bird, weighing only 4-5 pounds and the hens lay cream-colored eggs, each announced with much fanfare.

Originating in Indonesia, they are considered status symbols and/or good luck charms, with the blood (red, don’t be silly) and other parts of the bird often used in traditional medicine. Some even say they possess magical powers, facilitating communication between the living and the spirit world—and we would definitely agree!

July 2023 Hatch Report: 90% Fertility (20/22 Eggs, but we did not check for visible blastoderms in the two that showed no growth.)

Update: Two customers have reported hatching a rare all-white Ayam Cemani chick from our eggs, but we have not been so lucky ourselves!

Note: Some variations with this breed may occur.  Unfortunately, pigment distribution cannot be fully guaranteed in the offspring of this breed at this time. Uneven pigment distribution could possibly manifest as white toes, stray white feather(s) and/or purple or red combs/wattles , and even all-black chicks can develop these flaws into adulthood. Sometimes chicks can seemingly “outgrow” these flaws, such as white toes, around 6 months of age. Not yet recognized by the APA, Ayam Cemani can sometimes revert to the genetics of one of its relatives, such as the Ayam Kedu, which has the red combs and wattles.

After payment is received, we collect only fresh eggs straight from the nesting boxes and prepare them for shipment. Since Ayam Cemani hens lay eggs in “cycles,” we request up to 5 business days handling time to gather the eggs, but most orders go out within 24 or 48 hours of receiving payment.

Your Priority Mail package is shipped fully insured up to $100 to cover any losses that may occur during shipping. We are happy to assist you with filing an insurance claim for replacement eggs in the unlikely event your package is mishandled or lost, but sorry, we do not accept returns or issue refunds. To help increase your hatch rate, each box is marked “Please call for for pick up” and includes the phone number associated with your eBay account.

⚠️ Please Note: Shipping hatching eggs is a gamble. You may hatch all, some, or none of the eggs that are shipped to you. We cannot guarantee your hatching success because of the many variables with shipping, incubating, and hatching that are completely out of our control. There are absolutely no returns or refunds issued for perishable hatching eggs. This policy is industry standard, adopted from professional hatcheries who also sell and ship hatching eggs. By bidding on our auction, you agree to our terms and conditions for the sale.

Combined shipping may be available.  Please contact us immediately if you have any questions.

🏆 TIPS FOR MAXIMIZING YOUR HATCH RATE:

1. After transport, allow your eggs to rest (pointy end down) for at least 12 hours before placing them into the incubator.

2. In most cases, your eggs will arrive unwashed to protect the natural bloom from the hen. If you prefer washing your eggs before incubation, gently wipe with a soft cloth & warm water only.

3. For the first 5 days of incubation, do not rotate/turn eggs that have been shipped. Resume normal egg rotation/turning on or around day 6.

4. Double check the accuracy of preset incubators with a reliable digital thermometer. Yes, even a NutureRight 360 can sometimes be off by 2-3 degrees!  We recommend incubating your eggs at 99.5-100.5 with a relative humidity of 58-60%,but confirm the proper conditions for the specific breed that you are hatching.  Boost humidity levels to 65-70% during the last three days of the hatch. \

THE MOST COMMON REASON FOR A BAD HATCH RATE IS INCONSISTENT TEMPERATURE AND HUMIDY INSIDE OF THE INCUBATOR.
