Set of 3 c 1921 Melba China (made by Mayer & Sherratt) hand painted fluted floral spare saucers in pattern #1996, produced at the Clifton works in Longton, Staffordshire.

This tactile, molded and exquisitely detailed, hand painted floral swags in rich Imari tones of rust, green and cobalt blue on a lustrous, bright white background with gold highlights.

Dimensions: 14.3 cm diameter.

In good, original antique condition with no cracks, repairs or restoration that I can identify, however one has nibbles to the foot rim which have been overglazed; and the sponged gilding around the edge is a little faded.
The colours remain clear and bright.

There are a few fine glaze and kiln spots, paint smudges, very typical of china manufactured at this time and the manual processes involved.

The undersides of all 3 pieces bear the Melba China England & crown back stamp.

I have listed 7 sets of trios, 2 serving plates and spare side plates in this pattern separately.
