I have for sale my 1980 Rover SD1 2600 Manual LHD. The car is on French plates and has been in England for a few years now but has not been used or registered in the UK.

I originally bought this to use as a basis for a Grp 1 touring car but I think it’s much to good for that and I have since bought another shell for that purpose.

This now rare Series 1 survivor with the iconic early “shoe box” dash, in left hand drive form, is fitted with the 2600 straight six engine and manual gearbox. Finished in the very scarce and fetching colour combination of Richelieu Red (which was only available from 1976 to 1980) with Caviar interior. The car was originally supplied new in France where it spent most of its life before returning to the UK.

The car does not have a sunroof.

As I’m sure most of you know, converting this to RHD would not be very difficult.

The car has covered a total of 56000 miles from new. The odometer has been changed to MPH however the KPH odometer is still with the car.

The condition of the shell is about as good as any I have seen and is rust free.

I originally intended to change the engine to 4.6 litres and fit uprated suspension and brakes however I just don’t have the time.

I have by separate negotiation a brand new JE Developments 275 bhp 313 ft lb torque 4.6 engine and R380 gearbox, a Quaife differential, AP front discs and callipers and full coil over Leda suspension set up. With all this fitted, although not cheap, it would make a fabulous car.
