This is a beautiful Japanese cabinet.

It has a dark red lacquered finish with gold delicately painted flowers and birds.

It has a wonderful curved top with a curve fronted drawer. The two main doors open to reveal four drawers, the internal drawers and the back of the main doors show how the lacquer would have originally been, much shinier and in better condition.

The latch in the bottom of the lefthand door does not stay open when the door is opened. The latch has some damage, someone has tried to open the door without lifting the latch.

The internal drawers have little metal handles.

The bottom drawer has a lovely wavy front with two original drop handles.

These cabinets were always delicate and become more delicate with age.

It has had a life and the lacquer is damaged and coming off in lots of places, please see the photos - the lacquer is cracked and missing and bubbly.

Having said all this it is still a true masterpiece of craftsmanship.

Made of fine wood, it boasts intricate lacquer work that showcases the rich cultural heritage of Japan.

Dating back to the late 19th century, its exquisite design and attention to detail make it a unique conversation piece that is sure to impress. Whether you are a collector of Japanese antiques or simply appreciate the beauty of fine craftsmanship.

The cabinet is approximately 356mm high, 235mm wide and 122mm deep.

Please look at the photographs carefully for overall condition, they are part of the description.

I will always combine postage if I can.

I always refund any postage overpayments for UK shipping, I only charge what the postage and insurance actually cost me.

I post abroad through Ebays Global Shipping Program and I have no control over what they charge but their insurance is very good.
