An antique, large size, Welsh Holy Bible containing the Old and New Testaments, published in 1853 by the British and Foreign Bible Society as part of their Jubilee Year. It is written entirely in Welsh.
The front cover has the wording in Welsh for The Foreign and Bible Society Jubilee Year. The edges of the pages have gilt trim.
It measures 29.5 cm (11.5 inches) by 23 cm (9 Inches).
The cover has wear to the edges and the leather spine. There is a name from Aberdare, Wales stamped on the front endpaper and first blank page. Family details are written on the inside back cover. The front and back endpapers have age related marks. There is staining on the last few pages (an example is shown in the picture). The pages are in a good condition with some age related marks.
