Vintage Cars Complement Steam-Era Consists

For nearly 100 years, railroads moved all kinds of livestock from western ranges to eastern markets. For most roads however, this traffic was limited to just a few weeks each year. And since stock cars didn't lend themselves to handling other loads, most railroads were reluctant to invest in such specialized cars that were needed only for short periods. From 1915 on, many roads found it easier to lease stock cars from the Mather Stock Car Company of Chicago on an as-needed basis. Built to it's own modular design (which was considered quite radical at the time), Mather cars were simple to repair or rebuild, and these cost-saving measures were reflected in lower lease rates to customers. Some of these venerable cars were still running in the 1960s, until changes in the meatpacking and processing industry all but eliminated the need for stock cars. Featuring new roadnames and numbers, these detailed cars come equipped with single- or double-deck details as appropriate for each roadname, plus appropriate trucks with metal wheels and magnetic knuckle couplers. For extra realism, cars have scale size handrails and grab irons. Correct weight provides optimum operation. These assembled Mather Stock Cars feature two additional roadnumbers that don't duplicate those on Time-Saver® kit versions, so they're ideal for prototype operations on your layout.

Shipping: We only charge actual cost of shipping! All orders are sent out within 2 business days of completed payment. You pay for shipping, we pay for everything else needed to safely and professionally package your items.

We do combine shipping at actual cost: So, when you combine your purchases, you are charged on a final combined weight basis. It's that simple!

Combined Orders: You must use the "request total" button when you are finished with your purchases. This will let us know that you are ready to pay. We will then package your items, get a final weight, and then send you an invoice for the combined total with actual shipping cost. Please allow time for us to package your items before we send your invoice, usually just a few hours. Invoices are automatically sent to the email address associated with your eBay account. Sometimes, they can end up in your junk-mail folder, so make sure to always double check there.

Payments: We accept paypal. If you cannot use paypal, there may be other options. We will be glad to work with you! We always allow local pick-up, so cash is accepted in these cases.

Returns: Shipping and handling charges are not refundable. Items that are shipped with shrink wrap or otherwise sealed must be in original sealed condition to be returnable. If there is an error on our part, we will gladly refund your full purchase price, plus, we pay for return shipping as well!

International: We accept Paypal only for all international orders. You may ask about shipping costs at any time before the auction ends. International orders cannot be sent insured. Remember, it can take many weeks in some cases to receive your order. We are not responsible for items damaged or lost in shipping. We cannot change the final value listed on the customs form. Import duties, taxes, and charges are NOT INCLUDED in the item price or shipping charges. These charges are the buyer's responsibility. Please check with your country's customs office to determine what these additional costs will be prior to bidding / buying. These charges are normally collected by the delivering freight (shipping) company or when you pick the item up – do not confuse them for additional shipping charges.
