The Audenham English bridle leather short lead measures a total of 55cm/21.5 inches in length from end to end with a generous 20cm/7.5 inch handle opening.  The bridle leather is a reassuring 19mm / 3/4 inch width and a thickness gauge of 4.0mm for a slimline feel that has all the strength you will need for years of continued use.  The short lead is perfect for keeping small to large dogs very close to the handler where an improved amount of control can be applied.  They are also ideal for close heel training and protection training where the dog must be kept next to the handler

All Audenham English bridle leather leads are handmade using only the premium quality English bridle leather crafting a long lasting and supple lead that will age beautifully over time.  All leads are hand cut and hand finished using traditional time served techniques by a master craftsman, offering rounded and smoothed edges for comfort combined with double stitching for strength and security.  The hand finishing allows us to carefully monitor the quality and makes every Audenham English bridle leather lead personal and unique. 

The Audenham English bridle leather leads feature a stainless steel snap hook made by Herm Sprenger in Germany, who are renowned for their precision manufacturing to certified high standards of quality and performance.  The addition of a Herm Sprenger stainless steel snap hook ensures the fastener will never corrode and is capable of withstanding extremely high breaking loads.

We recommend using only good quality leather and tack cleaners and conditioners to protect against the effects of water, perspiration mud and drying out.  A quality glycerine based saddle soap to clean the leather and natural oil based leather conditioner will prolong the life and look of your English bridle leather lead. When properly cared for and nourished English bridle leather will become softer and supple yet maintain its strength and allows the character of the leather to emerge as it antiques over the years ahead.
