This hardback book by Ruth Rendell is titled " Thirteen Steps Down ". It was published by Hutchinson in 2004 1st edition. Complete with dust wrapper. " Mix Cellini live in Notting Hill and is obsessed with 10 Rillington Place and the the notorious John Christie. Mix's small library is composed entirely of books on that subject, and he has developed a passion for a beautiful model who lives nearby - a woman who would not look at him twice. His landlady, Gwendolen Chaucer, lives her life almost exclusively through her own library, blind to the neglect and decay around her. Both landlady and lodger inhabit weird worlds of their own. But when reality intrudes into Mix's life, a long pent-up violence explodes."

The book is in a very good condition. NOT ex-library. Small rubs at corners, small rubs and light bumps at spine ends, hint of light browning and a tiny mark to bottom page edges, clean and crisp internally with no ownership marks - a lovely copy.

The dust wrapper is in a very good condition. Rubbing and a crease at top of spine with several tiny creases, small rubs at flap fold ends with a little creasing at top of flap folds, slight outward bend along top edges of flaps, small dent close to spine on rear cover, the odd tiny mark to wrapper.
