Here is a collection of rare silent films.  These films are copied from my personal film collection and are in the public domain. Each DVD has no region coding so they should play world wide.   I have added a royalty free soundtrack to each of them. Please note I am not a professional musician and if you don't like the music I've chosen you are free to turn the sound down and play your own selection.  Also these films are not professionaly restored (which costs an arm and a leg) as I said they have been copied from my personal collection warts and all.  They are however so rare that many exist only in private collecitons or archives like the Library of Congres, the George Eastman House or the UCLA Archives.  Unless you live close enough to one of those archives chances are you will never see many of these films.   It is my hope that other film collectors will begin copying their films and making them available to the public like I am doing.  If you are a collector and would like some tips on how to do this I will be glad to respond to your questions.

Here is Rare Silent Collection #11 which has 6 films

The Conflicts End (1912) Marion Leonard

A newspaper woman buys a statuette from an Italian peddler and is given her change in counterfeit bills. Throught the peddler, she tracks down the counterfeiters.

Take The Air (1923) James Parrott

James Parrot works on the building of a sky scraper.  Note this is a very poor copy from an old 9.5mm print.

Freddy is fascinated by the ancient Greeks and his sister and her friends try to cure him by  living just like the Greeks until he gives up.

Negrita (ca 1920)

Looks like a short Our Gang type film.  Negrita is a little black toddler who prefers to play with geese rather than the rest of the gang.

Rose O' Salem Town (1912) Dorothy West, Henry B Walthall

A Deacon coming onto a "wild child" (Dorothy West) but after she rejects him he goes back into town saying that the girl and her mother are witches. It's up to a trapper (Henry B. Walthall) to try and race and save them before they're burned to death

Desert Rat (1919) Franklyn Farnum

Steve Lanyon known as the Desert Rat returns with gold and saloon owner Brazos Pete plots to get it. After he gets his girl friend to marry Steve hoping that will do it, Steve's old girl friend arrives and when Brazos is attracted to her, Sadie gets jealous and kills Brazos. Sadie flees and when the Sheriff arrives he finds the new girl with the gun in her hand.
