AE20204 LC Meter with RS232/USB

 DESCRIPTION:

The AE20204 is a kit for a high precision capacitance and inductance (LC) meter. The LC meter allows the measurement of capacitance and inductance of passive components, particularly very small values, even way below 1 pF / 1 µH. The resolution thereby is 0.01 pF (10 fF) / 10 nH with a test frequency up to 750 kHz. It is an inestimable aid for amateur radio enthusiasts, as well as anyone engaged in electronics. For instance, PCB capacitive touch sensors can be measured with high resolution and accuracy, or the capacitors and inductors for oscillators and filters can be selected and trimmed. The device is self-calibrating and the Relative Mode eliminates the capacitance/inductance of test leads or -fixtures and parasitics.

The kit contains all necessary parts, the programmed and tested microcontroller, the high quality, E-Tested PCB with gold finish and a 2x16 LCD with backlight. No additional parts or components are required! Yellow-green or blue backlight is selectable at no additional cost. A machined enclosure is also available (see below).

The RS232/USB interface allows the included software to access the readings and log them. The easy, plain text serial command protocol allows easy integration in own tools and systems.

A comprehensive printed 40 pages Assembly and Operation Manual is included (in english, german and english manuals in PDF format also available on the enclosed CD). The manual covers all the techniques needed including soldering.

All SMD parts are pre-assembled, only through-hole components have to be soldered!

The basic model (RS232) has a serial RS232 data interface. The USB option is available for only $7. It provides an USB 1.1/2.0 interface.

Display:

Two displays with backlight are available for no extra charge: yellow-green (-YG) and blue (-BL).

Case Enclosure:
