This auction is for TWO (2) brand new wood floor installation tension straps. These are a must have for any wood flooring installation project The clamps are designed to tighten rows of newly installed flooring to remove or reduce even the slightest gap between rows. These can be used for glue down and nail down applications. These clamps will span a distance of up to 15 feet.
General Suggestions for Glue Down Application: (Photos shown for reference)
1) Install four, five or six rows of flooring, per manufacturers specifications. Tap each row of boards together to properly seat the tongue and groove connections as much as possible.
2) Space the clamps every three or four feet and ratchet tightly until the gaps between board seams are closed as much as possible.
(Tip: Do not overtighten the clamps. These clamps are heavy duty, but overtightening only creates problems. (Tip - hold down or place a weight on the clamp end to prevent unsecured flooring boards from popping up if over ratcheting occurs.)
3) Place strips of blue painters tape across the newly install rows of flooring, spaced 18" to 24" or so, and overlapping the previous sections of boards by one or two rows. This will hold the boards tightly together until the flooring adhesive dries.
4) Release tension and remove clamps.
5) Repeat cycle.
6) Remove tape once flooring adhesive has set (usually within 24 hrs) - consult manufacturer installation instructions for cure time.
