Exhaust heat wrap is an easy but effective way of reducing heat that escapes from the exhaust system.
Our heat wrap also helps reduce under-bonnet temperatures by almost half as well as improving power and protecting other engine components.
Quick and easy to wrap around the exhaust
HOW TO APPLY:
To maximise its insulation capacity the aim is to wrap as tightly as possible.
Wetting the wrap can reduce fibre ‘fly’ and make the installation easier. Furthermore, on drying the wrap will set in a tighter, snugger fit. However, wetting is not essential.
Starting closest to the exhaust port (engine), wrap a full circumference and tie with stainless steel ties or with jubilee clips. Thread the ties in a similar way to the plastic tie with the lump profile of the clasp on the outside. To achieve as tight a fit as possible on the stainless steel tail and push the clasp with a screw driver. Trim the tail to the desired length with pliers/snipers.
Apply the wrap by wrapping round the headers or exhaust manually and at an angle to overlap by 30%-50% of the width (especially on the bends) to ensure 100% coverage.
If the primary tubes become too close together, begin to wrap around both maintaining the 30% - 50% overlap.
Finish off with stainless steel ties or jubilee clips.
HEALTH AND SAFETY NOTE:
All our Exhaust wrap products are safe, non-carcinogenic or hazardous to health. However, contact with fibres can be itchy to some people so if susceptible we recommend safely glasses, gloves and a dust mask.
If you experience skin irritation this will only be temporary and can be reduced by washing of the hands in warm soapy water.
