DESCRIPTION: This fabric is a plain Handloom Silk Dupion which we also call Raw Silk Dupion. The width is 54”/137 cms. The weight of the silk is approximately 120 grams per linear metre. Indian Dupion silk yarn has been used in the weft to give it slubby texture. This fabric is 100% silk and of a nice quality.The cost of a silk fabric is determined by the weight, grade of yarn used, weave, and design.

CUSTOMISATION: If you need a colour to be customised we can try and have it done. Please send a sample and we can let you know: 1) If we can do it, 2) minimum quantity, 3) production and delivery time 4) cost. For Handloom Silk Dupion the minimum quantity is 60 metres approx.
USES: This silk is suitable for making up cushion covers, soft furnishings, clothing and crafts. We do not recommend this fabric for upholstery unless it is more of a showpiece and does not have a lot of usage. The silk will be sold as flat piece which will be well packed.
CARE: We recommend dry cleaning. Some bright colours in this silk may not be 100% light and wash fast. Please check with us regarding this or request for a small sample and test it before making up the silk.
It is strongly advisable to get a sample prior to ordering fabric as despite our best effort the picture does not always reflect the correct shade. Certain colours seem to be difficult for the camera to capture. Maybe our camera is not as good as our silks!! As the fabric is cut from rolls it is difficult to accept returns due to the colour being different to the picture.

Many silks offered on internet or otherwise are in 44” width and therefore there is a cost and price difference.

PACKAGING AND POSTING: Up to 2 kg will be posted flat packed by Royal Mail. Approx. 10 to 14 metres would weigh 2 kg depending on the silk bought. More than 2 kg will be sent by courier.
