DESCRIPTION
A typical, uncoated guitar string is made of a metal core (usually steel) and includes a metal winding on the heavier gauges. As you play your guitar or bass, the string will quickly accumulate oils, dirt, sweat and bits of skin that get trapped between the windings. The unprotected string starts to corrode the metal and begins to 'deaden' the sound of the string.
FEATURES
- Elixir Phosphor Bronze with Nanoweb coating guitar strings use a protective fluoropolymer coating to cover the string via a patented process
- Coating is actually a microscopic sleeve that protects the string
- Entire surface of the string is coated including the gaps between the windings
- Last 3-5 times longer than uncoated strings
