Pronefra is for the support of renal function in the case of chronic renal insufficiency.

So basically it helps cats and dogs in kidney failure.

Pronefra is extremely palatable and is in liquid form for easy addition to food.

When a pet's kidneys aren't working properly, they aren't able to clear excessive phosphorus from the blood stream. So phosphate builds up and this sickens the pet further and reduces the pet's appetite. The aim of treatment is to stop extra phosphate building up in the blood stream by using Pronefra to bind and lock away the phosphorus in the food before the pet gets a chance to absorb it.

It is helpful also to feed a low phosphorus diet such as Hill's K/D diet or U/D diet.

Other popular phosphate binders include Ipakitine and Renalzin.

Don't forget to give your pet extra B vitamins, lots of water and feed smaller feeds several times a day, warmed up if necessary or adding gravy to improve the flavour.
