What is Silk Laminate Business Cards?

One of our biggest questions is, what is silk lamination? A silk laminated card is a very soft, soap smooth feel. Silk lamination is water resistant and also tear resistant. The silk lamination is referred to the luxury side of printing. As they say, it’s smooth as silk!

Silk Lamination is a matte finish, not a coating. If you have an iPhone or any Apple product, the box is wrapped in silk lamination. This is the best way to explain how the silk lamination feels without ever seeing a silk laminated card. Silk Laminated cards can be foiled, embossed, die-cut, and applied with spot uv. When using silk lamination, please keep in mind silk relates to the matte finish which will dull your color. Trying to use a bright neon color with silk will not work, unless of course you use a pantone color.

Printing Requirements & Process

1. Customer to send print ready file in 300DPI resolution.
2. Files accepted: Adobe Photoshop, Adobe Illustrator, PDF
3. For best results please submit in vector format and ensure the images in the file is in vector
4. For best results colors should be in CMYK
5. Proofing is provided via email PDF
6. Changes to the print cannot be made after the proof has been approved
7. Making file print ready available for an extra free
8. Items ship within 5 days from date of order
