Satin Black Passivate

Black Passivate is a process for producing a black chromate on zinc plate. It is suitable for use with acid, cyanide and alkaline non-cyanide zinc plating.

The kit includes enough chemicals to make 5 litres of black zinc passivate. This works well with our bright zinc plating kit producing an attractive satin black corrosive resistant surface.

Passivates Satin Black passivate produces an attractive black chromate coating on zinc and zinc-nickel. In addition to its good looks it provides outstanding protection against corrosion. Clear / Blue passivate gives a bright silver finish or if left longer will impart a blue sheen. Both finishes provide long lasting corrosion protection. Yellow/Gold passivate gives a gold finish with outstanding corrosion protection characteristics. Olive Drab passivates provide the same outstanding protection as the passivates listed above and add a military look. Olive Drab has also been used extensively on Yamaha Motor Bike parts.
