Beautiful hardy perennial plant with arching stems and pink pendulous flowers that really suit its common name Angel's Fishing Rod and is the perfect plant for a container or sunny border. They do look fabulous planted next to a pond but need careful positioning as wet conditions will rot the roots and corms over winter months. Prefers a sunny position with plenty of space in a free draining fertile soil. Established plants will gently self seed around the garden.
Sow in late summer to autumn as soon after seed harvest as possible and leave in a cold greenhouse or coldframe to germinate naturally in spring. Alternatively sow under gentle heat in spring 15-18C
Test sowing from seed parent have produced differing shades of pink offspring. It usually takes between 3 - 5 years to flower when growing from seed.
