Joseph Mallord William Turner was an English Romantic landscape painter, water colorist, and print maker. His style is said to have laid the basis foundation for impressionism.Turner was fascinated by the violent power of the sea. His favorite subjects to paint were shipwrecks, fires, natural catastrophes, and natural phenomenas which included bright sunlight, storms, rain, and foggy seas. Heaving in Coals by Moonlight is one of the artists's most famous and  most beautiful works. It was originally produced in 1835 as oil on canvas.
