The Royal Copenhagen manufactory was established in Denmark about 1775 by Frantz Henrich Muller. When bankruptcy threatened in 1779, the Crown took charge. Fine dinnerware and objects of art have been made since that time.

This lovely porcelain vase is the "Blackberry Fruit & Flowers" pattern and consists of two large flowers, leaves and branch of ripe blackberries against the shaded blue background for which Royal Copenhagen is noted. The vase measures 4" in height and is marked in green "Royal Copenhagen Denmark", with the Crown, pattern number 288/45-5A, "DO" denoting the decorator and three blue wavy lines. The date of manufacture is 1975 denoted by a bar under the second "E" in Copenhagen.
