For over 3000 years, ULU (Oo’loo) Knives have been used by many Native Alaskans as an all-purpose main cutting tool, (e.g. Cutting and chopping food, skinning animals, cutting clothes...), particularly for women. Before metals, a polished slate was used as the blade in the ULU Knife. In today’s generation, the ULU Knives design is maintained and adopted a new stainless steel blade. However, the utility of ULU Knife withstood the test of time.

ULU Knife Maintenance:
ULU blade will stay sharp for a long time. Sharpen the hollow ground edge on one side as you would other fine cutlery.
Please DO NOT soak or put ULU Knife in a dishwasher. Prolonged contact with water will damage the handle. Wash the ULU Knife by hand in soapy water. Rinse, and dry thoroughly. Apply oil (vegetable oil is fine) after drying.
Caution:
The ULU blade has a very sharp edge. Use caution when handling. Please keep out of children’s reach.
