It is our pleasure to present, for your consideration, this beautiful Tall Victorian Empire Period Flame Mahogany Secretary with Bookcase Top, Fold out Desk and Secret Drawer (Circa: 1850).  This gorgeous two-piece Secretary weighs approximately 160 pounds and measures 96” in total height (from the floor to the center top of the crown), 43” in width, and 23” in depth.  Each of the 4 shelves for the bookcase top measures 38 5/8” in width and 9 ¾” in depth.   

This fantastic Victorian Empire Period Flame Mahogany Secretary is constructed of mahogany, and flame mahogany over secondary wood and the details are lovely! The flame mahogany bookcase top is graced with a beautiful scrolled crown adorned with a heart scrolled applique in the center and flanked with foliate scrolled appliques on the sides that are found above the fancy original wavy glass doors with arched cornice details, and fancy foliate winged escutcheons.  The right door has an intact lock with a working key that is included. These doors open to reveal four display shelves (only 3 are pictured) that measure 38 5/8” in width by 9 ¾” in depth.

 Beneath the bookcase top are three petite dovetailed flame mahogany drawers with fancy foliate winged escutcheons and intact locks and working key.  These three petite drawers sit above the fold down flame mahogany writing surface that is dressed with a new black felt writing surface.

Additional storage opportunity is found in the three larger lovely dovetailed flame mahogany drawers that are adorned with beautiful foliate appliques, wooden knob pulls, and fancy foliate singed escutcheons.  These three larger lovely flame mahogany drawers have intact locks and a working key is included (same key works the 3 petite drawers).
