Artist:
Charles Paul Gruppe (American/Dutch 1860 - 1940) American painter mostly self taught traveled to the Netherlands in his early 20's. 
The lush inspiring landscapes affected his style after the trip.
His son carried on the family name of Gruppe and both artists are listed and are widely acclaimed in the art
history books and galleries around the world. Charles Sr. won two silver medals in 1903 at the St. Louis Worlds Fair.
By the time he passed away he left behind thousands of works.

Beach Scene with cottage, gulls and sail boats in the back ground. With trees and a boulder in the fore ground.  Signed bottom left.  Original origin and date of creation are unknown.  Possibly late 19th - early 20th century by the hand of American/Dutch artist Charles Gruppe.  Does not carry certificate of authenticity.
