Like their bigger brothers (the HP3A), the Rayfall HP1A Cree XP-E R3 LED Head Torches are very high brightness, incredibly versatile and feature-packed. Though they are slightly less powerful than the HP3A, these head torches are lighter in weight and even more compact (and incredibly only just bigger than the AA battery that powers them), making them ideally suited to highly physical activities, particularly jogging or running. Of course they can also be used for climbing, hiking, camping, fishing, hunting, car maintenance, etc, and also make for a great emergency light, that leaves your hands free, at both home and work.

Rayfall Head Torches offer great value for money, providing a specification and performance equal to (if not better) than many far more expensive, leading brand name head torches. DO NOT mistake Rayfall Head Torches for low cost, low specification, poorly made, budget LED head torches that are flooding the market, and falsely claim ridiculously high lumens - often in the thousands! These HP1A head torches give great visibility when running or jogging on dark nights. The beam provides a fairly wide area of illumination, with a more pronounced central illumination. When pitted against similar big brand name head torches, these little, super-lightweight Rayfall head torches fared every bit as well, and in most cases better than their rivals.    

A feature of Rayfall Cree LED Head Torches that is usually only found on much more expensive head torches is the incorporation of regulated, constant current electronics. What this means is that unlike low cost LED head torches whereby the light output continually diminishes as the battery energy is used up, the clever little electronics inside a Rayfall LED Head Torch maintains the current required to operate the LED at high brightness even as the battery voltage drops. This provides a light output that is constant throughout the burn time (the lifetime) of the battery.   

The white LED is a high light output CREE XP-E R3 LED and features 4 modes: High, Medium, Low and SOS Flashing mode. The night vision red LEDs have two modes, one ON mode and a flashing mode. Note: the white LED SOS mode is a true EMERGENCY 'SOS' SIGNAL, providing a continuous sequence of 3 dots, 3 dashes and 3 dots in a repetitive cycle. The red LEDs do not have the range of the white LED but allows you to see at night in close proximity without affecting your night vision, and doesn't attract biting insects as does the white light. Great for reading at night or sitting around a camp fire when you don’t want to blind your companions.

• The maximum light output setting for the white LED is 100 lumens, giving a range of around 95 metres and 8 hours burn time
• The medium light output setting for the white LED is 40 lumens, giving a range of around 45 metres and 13 hours of burn time
• The low light output setting for the white LED is 6 lumens, giving a range of around 6 metres and a burn time of 38 hours
• The SOS white LED flashing mode provides a light output of 10 lumens with a burn time of approximately 60 hours.

Please note that burn time performance will to some degree depend on the quality of the battery. The performances above are based on a quality alkaline battery. While a lower cost zinc carbon AA battery will provide a shorter burn time, conversely a Lithium AA battery will see an extended burn time. Incidentally, when every gram counts it is worth noting that an alkaline AA battery weighs approximately 23 grams, while the more powerful Lithium AA battery weighs in at around only 15 grams!

Weighing in at just 35 grams (without battery) the Rayfall HP1A is a super-compact but powerful and very versatile lightweight head torch. This Rayfall LED Head Torch also features a useful tilt facility and is dust and waterproof to IPX6 standard.
