Shelby Ford Cobra Daytona Coupe Decals for Tomy HO Slot Car

A beautiful water-slide decal sheet for the Tomy "HO" scale slot car enabling the hobbyist to replicate every race appearance of the original all-US built Cobra coupe  during 1964 through 1965. Designed by Pete Brock as the answer to Ferrari's 250 Testa Rosa, the first coupe constructed (chassis number CSX 2287), known as the "prototype," was built entirely at Carrol Shelby's southern California shop (the other five of the six constructed were bodied in Italy). This is also the only coupe to have a distinct low profile roofline. Test driven by Shelby development driver Ken Miles at Riverside Int. Raceway and then in competition by such racing luminaries like Bob Holbert, Dave MacDonald, Jo Schlesser, Phil Hill, Jochen Neerpasch, Chis Amon, Innes Ireland, Bob Johnson, Tom Payne, and Craig Breedlove, the "prototype" had a remarkable track record. From the first race at Daytona in 1964 to Sebring, Spa, LeMans, Reims, Oulton Park, the Tour de France, and even the Bonneville Salt Flats in Utah, every decal is here in incredible accuracy to replicate all the competition appearances of the first Cobra coupe. As a bonus, additional decals are included to replicate the red Georges Filipinetti coupe that ran at LeMans in '65 as well as assorted numbers and graphics to create other famous Cobra coupes.

These decals were thoroughly researched by myself then created with the talents of Dave Romero and printed by MicroScale -the best small decal company in the world. They have been sized to perfectly fit on Tomy's "HO" slot car Cobra Daytona coupe body. Originally printed in 2001 I have located limited remaining stock stored for 15 years. These are in new condition and without issues. I had the pleasure to sculpt the original pattern of this model for the Tomy corporation through the late Jim Russell of Russkit and Aurora/Tomy AFX Racing who, as fate would have it, briefly owned the real "prototype" Cobra Daytona coupe before selling it to infamous music producer Phil Spector but that, as they say, is another story! The slot car in the photo is not included and does not show these decals used -it is shown as sold retail by Tomy with printed graphics. Photos of these decals applied to the Tomy car can be found by searching the internet under "Jason Boye's cars."
